Bixby Creek Bridge is named after pioneering businessman Charles Henry Bixby, originally from New York.  In the late 1800’s he tried to convince the county to improve the road to Bixby Creek, but they refused, replying that “no one would want to live there.”  Today, the Highway 1 coastline is a popular destination.  We traveled down to the bridge with our good friends, Sevak and Yana.  It actually rained that day, proving that California is not always warm and sunny.  We had our picnic anyway.
